Rack Work

The term 'Rack Work' envelopes any form of work entailing the assembly, repositioning, relocation, tear down, wiring up/out of new/old cabling. The form of the rack could be as small as floor style 2 post, wall mounted, full 72" four post racks, or data centre daisy chain models.

If you looking to have a new rack and equipment mounted and wired up to your specs, we've done that. Some clients are particular to the point of issuing a 'plan-o-gram' of the new/empty rack of where they would like the UPS, routers, switches, file servers, cable management (horizontal AND vertical), along with colourized patch cables and non-mountable device shelving U-locations. We love these clients that put this much effort into knowing how their new rack with be deployed.

If you don't know the physical space requirements, or availablity of the site where the equipment is to be deployed, contact us to setup a site survey, providing you the dimensions of the room/closet, feasability, air circulation control constraints, and if there is existing equipment already located in there. Also to be covered would be egress from the room, via above ceiling (finished sealed drywal, removable tile), or below (raised floor, concrete).

Cutovers to new equipment can be performed on weekends, holidays, or overnight, when access to live production equipment and servers will be minimize (your corporate planning of timelines required).

A planned rollback plan should be created in the event only a partial or critical device failure stops the completion of the deployment.

Day 1 On-Site Smart-Hands support, is available for issues that may arise when the staff perform your designed EUAT (End-User Acceptance Testing) of corporate applications. We can work with your corporate IT department and onsite staff to identify concerns. (Best practice would be a day when the business is closed to public, or when there is low production runs, if possible).
