2019 Travel: Open Letter (Rates are based on distance, and current fuel rates at the pump)

Subject: Canadian Fuel prices and Western Canada already BOILING for 2019
Date: April 29'19
Good Day,
I've already had a discussion about this topic with some of you last year, and 2019 is already surpassing records set in 2018. As this is something I need to tell more often, to explain my rates follow pump rates. I felt that making this web page to easily share, was prudent..
I'm going to give you URLs so you can review what is going on here in Canada, and the stupendous gas rates that are happening again this year (surpassing last years record breakers). It's not just supply and demand, but some political warring between provinces.
As you know I do WO's through my business "as a business", and have spent time making static charts, and references, so I can be consistent in my rates. I don't just make up (humm, about xxx should be good enough) pricing.
I use independent verified sources as reference, and as a matter of fact.
(GasBuddy, and National New casts to evidence what is occurring here in Western Canada)
I invite you to understand the Western Canadian gas prices, and perhaps you can better defend to the client(s) why it's so much more expensive in Canada to travel. Side note: When pump prices change they change often by about USD$0.38c/Gallon at the snap of a finger (up OR down)
Also I have a Full Sized SUV that can carry everything I may need on a job (eg. 5 different sized ladders, multiple boxes of cable, wide variety of tools, and other equipment). As I am not using Honda Civic, travel cost me more, so I can carry and handle more.
Travel costs cover more than the fuel in the tank.
There is; automotive business insurance (higher than personal use), maintenance upkeep (brakes, oil changes, air filters, summer + winter tires), modifications for business needs, repairs, and services (flats, towing [deer, moose collisions can immobilize a vehicle], windshield or window replacement from damaging hail or debris kicked up).
Travel cost are very real, and without a safe, properly operating vehicle, no work can be performed.
Sidenote: The ISPs charge $75 just to start the technicians truck (aka. "truck-roll").
I appreciate you taking the time to review, and becoming aware
I never desire a revisit, I like one vist = job completed.

The first link is this sites primary URL for years. With many more useful URLs prior to 2019, which may be why others here use it.

I used to have my price chart listed publicly on the site, but due to other contractors, using it to under cut my travel fee,
I have decided to unlist it from the website. The chart has not changed, but will now only be made available to Clients/Buyers of our services
Last year I added additional columns to account for the record breaking prices up to $5.30-5.67USD / Gallon
Price chart available on request, to our verified clients/buyers
The rates in the chart have been static over the years with only the pump rate making a difference
Using this URL, insert Canada Average into the second slot, and see for yourself, the difference

or this one that visually represent current price brackets

For the given example:
Origin of Trip: Calgary, AB, Canada
Destination: Golden, BC, Canada
3 hours (1 way) 164 miles
Pump Price at $1.48CAD / Litre (about $5.65USD / Gallon)
Chart rate: $see chart
Locations under 200 miles
Trips that are same day travel, accommodation fees are typically not required (work dependant)
Locations over 200 miles (over 8 hrs driving round trip)
Trips that have extensive travel time should expect an accommodation fee of $130
(a few towns a shade over 200 miles, combined with short 60-90 minute task; may be exempt from the accommodation fee).
Thank you for your time, and interest on Western Canadian fuel pricing
